We arrived in South America

Yesterday on October 24 we left on 5.40 am in Frankfurt (dark, 11°C) and arrived in Ecuador (bright and much warmer). We directly headed for the old town of Quito. There were a lot of people on the streets on their way back home and we had to take several shortcuts to avoid traffic jams – similar to London, only that Quito is built between the mountains and on 2800 m above the sea.

We had dinner with Francisco, a good friend of ours who studied together with Christine. He introduced us to local dishes and informed us about his country. Afterwards we went right back to our hotel being tired after a 24h day.

Right now we are on the gate for our next flight to Galapagos Islands. We look very much forward to our time there, having heard such great stories about it.
